How to select the right professional shoes: Do your shoes really protect?
- A correct fit supporting your feet clearly reduces the risk of twisting an ankle. The shoe’s closure or safety strap should adjust to the foot and hold it securely.
- A non-slip rubber outer sole (SRC) with a large contact area for good grip is indispensable.
- The shoes should cover the front of the foot including your toes and be water-resistant in order to prevent the infiltration of liquids from above. The material should be hard-wearing and easy to clean.
- The heel area should be slightly shock-absorbing with a stable heel counter for more support. A reinforced toe cap is recommended.
- Look for a comfortable footbed with low heels and shoes that allow your feet to breathe.
- Make sure they fit well! The area around the ball of the foot is widest: a suitable width of the shoe is as important as its length.
